I'm still on Bronze Nazareth Wu affiliate who did that "Street Corners" a few years back "Colombian Ties' on Pro Tools, Ayatollah "Say it How you mean it" by Blaq Poet and 9th Wonder loved all those little brother beats.
I have to say Statik Selektah. Just look how has grown this and last year. Two solid albums out on the market with awesome collabo's. I also have to give credit to Hi-Tek & Evidence.
it really depends on the day!.. Anthony from Atmosphere has been doing great stuff on rhymesayers! and I'd be bugging if I said I wasn't amazed by some of that Kanye stuff as well... J Dilla, what can I say about J... still one of the dopest since Electric Circus and his music still does its magic till today on Q Tip's album... Q tip did a good job on the renaissance
I don't know how you do it, but whoever produced all of your AH and the Gingy album.
@ Bashir Wardini Ant is dope! He did a dope remix for Doom. I used to work with him way back in the day and as far as I can remember he has always made banging beats.
yeah ant is still fresh and doing hell of work on atmosphere... its just magic... hes one of the producers that never fell off (unlike stoupe lets say.. he has ups and downs)
yo thanks to all who posted I picked up that Cluthcy hopkins, shit is real nice and those Flying Lotus tracks I'm feeling those too, thanks for sharing.
@whomenotnow Word, that's good. Clutchy Hopkins is a man named Shawn Lee. Or at least that's my theory. I'm 'bout 80%. Flylo is dope. I'd cop 1983 & Los Angeles if you got that extra earn.
When you said you picked up the new Kool Keith were you talking about Tashan Dorrsett or the new Dr. Dooom album? What'd you think?
At the moment i think its pretty even between Madlib and Pete Rock. When i herd the "Legend" track on the mighty Joseph album i was sold. But i also herd this dope new track from Krumb Snatcha "Yesterday" and it was off the hook!
Forgot one that should get a medal for this beat! 'Melodious Monk' on the track "The Man Without Fear" from Vast Aire.Seriously one of the sickest tracks ive ever herd!
We just got done producing a joint with Vast Aire and C-Rayz Walz. It was a great experience. Can't wait for yawl to hear it. It's going to be on the new record. It's easy to produce beats for dope emcees.
Who is the authority on hip-hop anyway? Once you appoint one then isn't it lost? Arguing categories of categories of categories should be reserved for the drunks to ask the bottle. I find it's funny that it's also what occupies most intellectual's time. And they want to arrest ME for drinking in the alleyway!! What's the deal...
Yo, just for fun... I've come across some "MF" products in my day. I found an old camera manual for a lens called "MF ZOOM LENS" and I stumbled on some "MF Grape" soda...

in terms of being "the hottest" i think it's Just Blaze, i mean just this past year he's produced
T.I.- Live your life (ft. Rihanna)
&
Maino- All the above (ft. T-Pain)
I'm sure there's so much more, those are just what i can think off the top right now

Feel like Clubber Lang when he was hollering at Rocky's bird. Minus the Hollywood special effects at the end.

I always liked Just Blaze; What about Madlib? anything new from him? or Swizz?
Swizz is dope! Yawl know Madlib gets down all day, no matter what.

started gettin' into work from Damu the Fudgemunk. thats my favorite producer right now.
Distrakt, Word?

Yo,
I'm surprised no one has said this... Flying Lotus aka Flylo aka Electric Coltrane and his man Samiyam.
Never heard?! Check it:

Haven't been this excited about a new musician in a while. Definitely worth your time. 1983 +/- Los Angeles on vinyl = Homer Simpson drool.
Peace,
Soggy-Bottoms aka Cracker Jack
Madlib, Insight, Edan, 9th Wonder, Marco Polo, Bronze Nazareth, Stoupe.... all quality producers. recently been loving Ravage aka MeccaGodzilla's instrumental album Erroars too.
As for up and coming producers, check out Danamiks:

@Distrakt
Damn right.
But you know, nowedayz there is so much crap that claim there doing hip hop. Its just sad. I think they should split it in half. Mc's and Rappers ;)
but thats just my oppinion..

agreed.
Guess you can’t have one without the other, you know… good vs evil.
@Nicotine Milk
no doubt.
